I've completed my set of four original, mini artworks for this year's Oil Bennett Secret Postcards event (the secret postcard sale in aid of the Oli
Bennett Charitable Trust) and posted them off ready for the sale which takes
place on 27th of this month.
Set up on a similar model to the RCA Secret postcard exhibition and sale,
the Oli Bennett Postcards event exhibits a range of original, A5-sized (much
larger postcard size than that of the RCA Secret) artworks, all created and donated
by artists. The postcards are then sold off to the public at £50 each, to raise
money for charity. As the artworks are all presented anonymously (with the
artists' signatures written on the backs of the postcards) I can't reveal my
postcards for this year's event until after the sale, so here are some images of
my Oli Bennett Charitable Trust Postcards from previous years.
Previous fairs have featured work from more than 100 artists, including Sir
Peter Blake, Anita Klein, Jonathan Yeo, Richard Colson, Yelena Popova, Susie
Hamilton, Elinor Evans, Guy Denning, Sarah Butterfield, Josie McCoy, as well as
cartoonists Kipper Williams and Jonathan Pugh. Click here for a list of some of this year's artists - more to be updated soon.
The charity was set up to commemorate the name of Oli Bennett, a young
man killed in the World Trade Centre attack of 9/11, and to provide funding and
grants for young people with business ideas, many of whom are from
underprivileged backgrounds.
The sale takes place on 27 June 2019 (6:30 PM – 8:30 PM BST) at Westminster
School, Little Dean's Yard, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3PF.
NOTE: Admission to the fair is free but places are limited and all guests
must have a ticket. People arriving without a ticket will not be admitted. If
you would like to attend then please click here to register for a free ticket.
