Even with my divers repertoire I have to admit that miniature oil
paintings of rabbits in ruffs is a long way from my normal artistic practice. But this was a fun little piece to work on. Although, thinking about it, rabbits have cropped up in my work several times over the last few years - so maybe it's not that far a stretch after all.
I painted 'Lord Bunnington' for the art historian, the lovely Dr Lindsey Cox, who has just completed her PhD (congratulations Dr Cox). Lindsey's specialist area of research lies within the world of Tudor miniature paintings, and in case you hadn't guessed, she also likes rabbits.
